About Mrs. Rachael Astorga
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Rachael developed a passion for art and art history while spending her Saturdays roaming the halls of the Carnegie Museum of Art.  She attended Penn State University, obtaining a B.A. In Art History.  A sense of adventure took her out west where she continued her exploration of the fine arts at the University of New Mexico where she completed a Master’s Degree in Art Education, with a focus on museum education, along with Native American and Folk Art.  Combining her love for art history and young children she led a pre-school exploration program at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  She has taught elementary art in Fairfield, CT and middle school art in Anaheim, CA.  After a 12 years of staying at home with her 3 children, she has been at Mt. Bethel for 4 years.  When she is not teaching art, you can find her on the sidelines of Pope Lacrosse games or rowing on the Chattahoochee.
