First week in the books!
The first week of school was a flurry of activity in the art room. 5th and 4th grade worked together to create a beautiful collaborative art piece that will soon hang in the learning commons. 2nd and 3rd grade pondered the question "What is Art?" and illustrated a word to describe what art means to them. 1st graders finished miniature self-portraits and described why they love art. Being new to the art room, kindergartners were assessed in their ability to color, cut and glue as they created a shape man. I can't wait to see how creative they will be this year! |

Flextangle Fun!
As an end of year project, the 5th graders created flextangles. They were so popular that many students are begging to make more. Here is the link to the template and a video on how to make these fun toys.

Art Show!
The annual art show is this Thursday, April 2nd from 5:30 to 7:30. Pre-sale forms went home last week with your child. Frames are $25. Don't miss this opportunity for your child to show off their amazing artwork and make it a part of your permanent collection!
