Since we can't go to the zoo right now, we can bring the zoo to our houses! Check out these amazing zoo webcams. Pick your favorite animal and draw it in it's habitat.
1) Go to the Zoo websites and decide which animal you would like to illustrate
2) Gather Materials-Sketch book, and large paper or use a digital drawing app, pencil, colored pencils, crayons markers, chalks or oil pastels.
3) Practice drawing animals with basic geometric and organic shapes in your sketch book first with different points of view. Make at least 3 thumbnail sketches.
5) Use a large piece of paper (could be recycled paper such as brown bag, or other found resource).
6) Draw your animal large filling the paper to make an interesting composition add elaboration such as textures and patterns.
7) Draw in the background of the animal’s habitat.
8) Extra challenge: try drawing the animal on a digital app such as Doodle Art and or an animation on Green Screen Animation.
9) When you are done, upload your art to Artsonia.
